On Nov. 18, Lakewood Police Department Detectives arrested 21-year-old Jay Sean Griffith in connection with the suspected homicide of Gail Wilson. Griffith is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of Tampering with a Deceased Body and Accessory to First-Degree Murder.
Wilson, 81, was last seen leaving his Lakewood home Oct. 31, at approximately 3 p.m., driving his 1997 red Ford F-150. On Nov. 5, Wilson’s truck was recovered in an area northwest of I-25 and Colfax Avenue in Denver.
Two other suspects, Ricardo Gonzalez Perez and Savannah Nicole Wilson — Gail Wilson’s daughter — were arrested in early November. Gonzalez Perez is being held on suspicion of First-Degree Murder. Savannah is being held on suspicion of Accessory to First-Degree Murder.
Traffic surveillance cameras captured images of Gail’s pickup truck at various locations in the metro area with a large piece of rolled-up carpet and black plastic garbage bags in the bed of the truck. Those items were never recovered.
Gail is described as a white male 5’6” tall, weighing 180 pounds, with grey hair and hazel eyes.
Lakewood Police are not releasing any further information about the case at this time, but are asking potential witnesses who may have seen his truck on or after Oct. 31 to call the tip line at 303-763-6800.
