In a time of anti-police emotions and activity, I was glad to see two members from law enforcement chosen and recognized for outstanding performance and dedication. I’ve been a longtime contributor for the NLEOMF, National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, and recent developments have made me think hard about my decision. I’ve had, and have friends in law enforcement and would not like to abandon them in their total commitment. I keep thinking of Rodney King in the 1996 riots, “Can’t we get along?” After so many years, he’s still asking that same question.
A US postage stamp was designed and issued with his picture and name.
It should be time for a renewal of that very worthy honor.
