Unemployment rates are unprecedented, leaving people across the country facing food insecurity for the first time, including families in our neighborhoods.
Community Table is working harder than ever to meet this new demand in Jefferson County, including Arvada, Edgewater, Golden, Lakeside, Mountain View, Wheat Ridge, Westminster, and surrounding areas.
Before the onset of COVID-19, we served an average of 222 clients weekly. But since mid-March, 33 percent more people now turn to us for aid. This crisis proves that anyone can find themselves worried as they look into an empty refrigerator or bare cupboard.
Together with Food Bank of the Rockies, we are stepping up to meet the increased need. We are receiving and distributing record amounts of food. We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of community support for our program and Food Bank of the Rockies, allowing us to provide additional food and resources to nourish our neighbors facing hunger and uncertainty during this difficult time.
However, none of this could be possible without the support of our community. Northern Jefferson County has helped us step up. Your gifts of funds and time allow us to continue serving those who need it most. With your help, we can continue to be here for the duration of this pandemic and beyond.
Thank you for supporting our hunger-relief efforts. Together, we can meet this challenge and continue to serve our community.
Sandy Martin,
CEO of Community Table
