Letter: Former assisted living facility driver offers words of thanks

Posted

In late 2021 after a series of surgeries, I was ready to go back to work. I am a driver so I was thrilled to be offered the position of driver for an assisted living facility. I started part-time and drove the facility bus and car. My services to the residents were so popular, that I became full-time.

In March of of this year, the company changed hands and new owners came in. It was still business as usual until May when I was injured on the job. Six weeks later I was terminated. Because of company policy, I did not get to say goodbye to the people who added so much to my life. My co-workers, residents and their family members, so I would like to offer those words here.

Dear Residents, families and co-workers;

I just want you to know that you changed my life. I had never felt so much love. It fueled me to always strive for better.

You will never know how much I think of you and how much I grieve in knowing that I will never be able to know you more.

I just wanted to tell you this. I miss and love you all. Thank you for changing my life.
