Democrat John Hickenlooper, Colorado's former governor, defeated incumbent Republican Cory Gardner in the race for one of Colorado's U.S. Senate seats in the Nov. 3 election. Results updated by the state the afternoon of Nov. 4 showed Hickenlooper had received 53.7% of the statewide vote, with Gardner garnering 44.2%. The following is a look at how the two candidates fared in Denver metro-area counties.

Adams County

Hickenlooper: 55.9%

Gardner: 41.3%

Arapahoe County

Hickenlooper: 59.2%

Gardner: 38.7%

Denver

Hickenlooper: 80.9%

Gardner: 17.7%

Douglas County

Gardner: 55.7%

Hickenlooper: 42.7%

Elbert County

Gardner: 75%

Hickenlooper: 23.2%

Jefferson County

Hickenlooper: 55.9%

Gardner: 42%
